About ECONOS

The European Conference on Non-linear Optical Spectroscopy (ECONOS) emerged in 2002 to widen the agenda of the former annual European CARS (Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering) workshops to cover all forms of nonlinear optical spectroscopy, theoretical and experimental studies, and applications.
Topics include, but are not limited to, CARS, and other forms of coherent scattering, applications of high-order responses in the time and frequency domains. Applications deal with diagnostics in reacting flows, microscopy of biological samples, materials, nano-objects and other media. Developments also deal with novel lasers sources, and study of other spectral signatures such as LITG, SERS, SRS, TALIF etc... in different media.

ECONOS in general provides a platform for scientific exchange between physicists, chemists, engineers, material scientists, biologists, biomedical scientists and industry representatives and is intended to provide participants with new impulses for their own research. At the same time, the bridge to translation into application and marketing, e.g. in the field of new diagnostic and biomedical approaches is established.
